Shakespeare Experiment
There’s a theory that if you put enough monkeys on an island, each banging away on a typewriter, they’ll eventually produce all the works of Shakespeare.
This is true in theory, so long as they bang on a typewriter long enough, a certain percentage of the random stuff they type will make sense.
This is something you calculate with some basic assumptions, and some simple concepts from probability theory.
Human Biases
One interesting bias that affects our thinking is survivorship bias.
Most biases act as filters inside of our brains, that filter certain things.
Normalcy bias, confirmation bias, these kinds of biases helps us to sort out most things in our environment that we don’t want to see,
But survivorship bias is done through time, by our environment, it’s not something that happens inside of our brains.
Time Travel Classic Novel
There is a theory of time travel that will allow you to write not only a best selling novel, but that will allow you to impact humanity in a profound way.
This is the opposite of most time travel theories which require you go back in time and stop something really bad from happening.
This requires you first freeze time, write several hundred books, and then travel into the future in hundred year intervals to check on the survivorship progress of your books.
Self Hypnosis Novel Theory
Another way to achieve the same goal, albeit in a much more limited capacity is to first develop a self generated, accelerated reading hypnotic trance.
Then go to your local library, and quickly read the top 100 selling books of all time.
This way, you’ll soak up the character arcs, the plot points, the metaphors and the deeper meanings.
Then put yourself in a trance, choose one them, and write one novel that is inspired by these 100 books.
Weekly Ritual
If you do this once per week, on a different theme, you will publishing one novel per week that will potentially be a best seller.
If you keep this up for a year or two, you will have written at least 100 novels, all modeled after the cumulative structure of the 100 best selling novels of all time.
This means that after a year, based on a hyper-focused Pareto strategy, you’ll have at least five books earning you at least a million dollars a year.
This is far from a get rich scheme.
Effort Required
This will take work.
But if you are willing to put in the time, to learn how to hypnotize yourself like this, you can earn a significant amount of money.
And the more you do this, the more you’ll be operating on auto pilot.
The first few times you do this, it may take a significant portion of your conscious mind.
But if you practice hypnotizing yourself, you will get better at not only accelerated learning, but accelerated writing.
Hypnotic Acceleration
The deeper your hypnosis, the easier this will seem.
The easier this seems, the more of your deeper creativity you’ll have access to.
The more of your deeper creativity you have access to, the better stories you’ll write.
Many people that have tried this successfully, and were able to write best selling novels, say this process is profound.
Who Is Writing This?
That when you write each best selling novel, it won’t feel like you are writing at all.
It will feel like a story is unfolding while you are only watching this, even though you are the author of these very words.
Traveling back and forth into the future will allow you to not only re-configure your classic literature with every time loop, but choose exactly what kind of an impact you want to have on society.
Each Loop Better
Once you know how to do this, you will be able to decide how you want to have an impact on society.
Since this is done by time, and the filtration of success, survivorship bias is a deceptive tool how to succeed.
In order to succeed at anything, you need to know what doesn’t work just as much as what does work.
And with survivorship bias, you only see half of this equation.
Unintended Monkey Outcome
It turns out it would take more than 13 billion years for one thousand monkeys randomly typing to accidentally write out all the works of Shakespeare.
Which means it’s still possible, but we’d need both another universe, one that would last for more than 13 billion years.
But we’d need to genetically engineer a race of monkeys that would be immortal.
Rise Of The Monkeys
Otherwise every time a monkey died and another monkey took his place, the experiment would have to reset.
And if we did have the technology to genetically engineer a race of immortal monkeys, that would not be a very good idea.
Because if monkeys were immortal, and they were on an island randomly typing, they might discover the secrets of language, and thought, and everything else that makes us human.
So what might start out as a Shakespearean monkey experiment would end with the entire universe being ruled by immortal monkeys.
And they might decide to eat our brains for fun, or to just get revenge.
