Shoe Salesman
I have a friend who works in a shoe store. He’s worked there for over ten years. When he started he thought it would only be a part time job.
A lot of big bookstores are closing. For obvious reasons. A lot of retail is in trouble. But bookstores even more so since everybody can buy ebooks now.
But there’s one bookstore near my house that is always packed. I mean it’s like going back in time or something.
Buying things feels good, since it’s a human instinct. But you can also have an addiction to shopping.

Food tastes good, but you can be addicted to eating. Sex feels good, since we need to maintain our existence. But sex can be an addiction as well.
Funny thing about sex addicts is they have this kind of sixth sense for communication. A sex addict can walk into a crowded area, find another sex addict and with only a glance, they both know what’s up.
I went to this weird jewelry shop recently. I walked in and there was this old guy. I looked at all the pieces, but none of them had any prices.
How Do I Choose
I looked at him and asked him what the deal was.
He told me to close my eyes, and see which piece was calling out to me.
I did and found this one very thin gold chain with a rune attached to it.
The rune was only about half a centimeter, and it was also gold.
I said how much is this?
Cost Is Based On Use
He said the costs depends on how much I use it. I looked at him curiously.
He said when you wear that, people will do whatever you say.
People will do whatever you suggest.
The more you command people, the more they’ll obey.
The more things you suggest, the more people will eagerly follow your suggestions.
Word Addictions
It’s like they’ll become addicted to your words.
They’ll become addicted to obeying you.
They’ll become addicted to serving you.
If you use this for mutual good, the costs will be zero.
if you use this to benefit yourself at their expense, the costs will be enormous.
Drug Receptacles
Even drug addiction kind of mimics natural instinctive satisfaction.
When you do something that feels good, something that took a lot of work, you get a kind of adrenalin rush.
So the high from drugs and alcohol kind of mimics that adrenalin rush.
But drugs only work if we have the built in receptors for the chemicals.
Bookstore Love
One of the reason I like bookstores is that you are surrounded by so much potential information.
The whole store is filled with books, each that contain potentially life changing information.
Not only is that compelling, but you’re also surrounded by people who also crave information.
Other people like you, you also want to learn more.
Natural Seller
I guess my friend is natural at selling shoes.
He ended up studying reflexology, the idea all our organs are represented in the soles of our feat.
And he’s really good at talking to people.
He’s slowly built a loyal customer base of thousands of people who come to see him when they need shoes.
