Frame Is All
One of the most important traits of a con artist is to have massive amounts of confidence. That’s why they are called con artists because they are confidence men.
It turns out that in order to pull off a con for any reason all you need to do is believe what you are saying. This is the most important trait to have. A very strong relative frame strength to your target or victim. It doesn’t really matter how intricate your plan is, so long as you have confidence in your plan people will believe you.
A friend of mine invented a very foolproof method for having short-term sexual affairs with wealthy attractive women. It involves going to art galleries. He had to take a semester at a junior college of modern art appreciation.
Art Sex Con
Before he goes to the art gallery, he has to do a little bit of research so we understands which artists are being shown and how to talk about them intelligently. But he’s found that all he needs to do was wear the right clothing and show up of these art galleries and speak intelligently about the various art pieces being shown and he can clean up and have his pick with wealthy attractive women.
Most people have a strong desire for skills they don’t have. But it turns out that this strong desire for skills that they don’t have is very much like having one-itis.
If you imagine a woman that you’re in love with her or in lust with and you don’t really know her, this is the definition of one-itis. You don’t really have an attraction for the female as she is.
One-Itis
You have an attraction for this female as she exists in her idealized version that exists only in your mind. Similarly, when people think about skills they want to have, they don’t really think about the skills combined with what it would take to get those skills. What would cost to maintain those skills.
All the opportunity costs associated with both. They just imagine the skill having the skill kind of in the abstract.
One of the most fundamental truths from self-development is that you can be a master of any skill if you were only to practice for 10,000 hours. This means that if you practice any skill religiously and consistently for three hours a day you would be a master of that skill in about 10 years.
Path To Mastery
Three hours a day is about 1000 hours per year. So in 10 years you could be a master of any skill. If you could practice this skill for six hours a day you could master the skill in five years, which means in as little as five years, if you chose the skill correctly, you could develop a skill that would make you rich and famous.
That means anything you want to do so long as you work on practicing that skill every single day for six hours you would become skilled enough to be rich and famous. The problem is you would have to put up all of the costs that practicing that skill would take and more importantly you would have to understand all of the opportunity costs.
The things you couldn’t do while you are practicing that skill. You couldn’t relax and watch TV every day. You couldn’t play video games. You couldn’t read comic books. You couldn’t spend time with your friends. You couldn’t pursue romantic relationships. But if you are willing to put up both the direct costs and the opportunity costs, and you chose the skill correctly, you could develop a skill in five years that would make you incredibly rich and incredibly famous.
Most People Only Dream
Just like most people will never do anything to try to create an actual relationship with their one-itis, most people will never do anything to pursue the skills. They would rather think of the skills and their one-itis in the abstract.
If you think of things in the abstract, in hallucination-land, you might as well create a very rich hallucinated world to spend your time living in if all you’re going to do is fantasize about things.
When my friend goes to these art galleries, all he needs to do is wander around, slowly talk to whoever wants to talk to him about the pieces of art hanging in this art gallery. He speaks intelligently enough about the piece of art he talks about who his or her influences are.
This Piece…
What it reminds him of. He refers to other pieces of art and just doing that he will attract women that will kind of congregate around him. These rich women. Because it turns out that a lot of wealthy women that hang out in art galleries don’t really go there because they’re interested in art.
They go there because they’re hoping to meet rich attractive men. My friend has a good enough outer game skills to promote that image that he is a very wealthy, very intelligent man, but in reality he’s kind of lower middle class.
He has just built this perfect game that has allowed him to have a lot of short-term relationships with these wealthy attractive women.
Never Ending Frame Battles
Whenever two people are in a conversation, whoever has the strongest frame will determine the outcome. This is kind of hard to see because most people are wandering the earth with very weak frames.
If you can develop the incredible strength of a con man, you can get anybody to do anything. If you can develop enough confidence in whatever you are talking about, you can walk up to anybody, tell them what to do, and they will obey you.
