Garden Planning
A couple of weeks ago, maybe a couple of months ago, I was standing out front of this house that I had just rented. I had written it just as winter was starting and the guy that I was renting it from said that I can do whatever I wanted to the garden.
He hadn’t done a lot of work on himself and winter was just ending. I was standing out front looking at the garden trying to wonder what I might plant.
This old guy started talking to me. I think he came out of the house next door. He asked what I was doing. I said I’m trying to think of what to plant in this yard. He said yes springtime is a nice time of year because this is when all the plants come back all the colors come back over life comes back.
Army College Plan
He told me that he used to be in the Army, he just got started talking to me I guess maybe he was being friendly and he noticed that I was in a kind of a relaxed open mood for a long meandering conversation.
He said he joined the Army after high school. His plan was to go through four years of service and then get the Army to pay for his college. When he entered the Army they gave him an IQ test and they found out that he was really really intelligent.
They put him in a very brand-new psi ops program where they’re trying to come up with different psychological warfare techniques. In order to do that he had to study a lot about the human mind and what happens when people die.
Sounds Of Death
At the time they were working on a program with that would radiate sound waves from these large speakers. These soundwaves would allegedly kill the people that heard them. He said that wasn’t quite exactly what they were doing.
It turns out that wasn’t exactly what they were doing. They weren’t actually hoping to kill people with soundwaves, but it turns out they were just trying to create the idea that they have the capability to kill people.
The idea was if they were to roll up on the battlefield with these gigantic speakers the enemy was see the speakers and realize what they were and they would turn tail and run.
Oldest Game In The Book
It turns out this is one of the oldest strategies of warfare. You don’t build weapons because you actually want to use them. You build weapons so the other side will know that you have weapons. The idea is to get the other side, the enemy, to surrender before you even fire a single shot.
This is a strategy that is as old as Sun Tzu back in ancient China. The ability to win a battle before a single shot is fired will make you very very powerful military general.
All of this stuff this guy did was research into psi ops and it was carefully put in the mind of the other side so they knew that the US was doing all kinds of research and the science.
Nuclear Build Up
Kind of like the Cold War. Both the US and the Russians were building nuclear weapons not because they wanted to use them, just so the other side would know that they had and them.
I didn’t ask him when he did this. It was kind of according to the same strategy to create this idea in the mind of the enemy that we have these psychological killing techniques that will make them too terrified to fight us.
In order to understand all of these potential psychological killing techniques he had to study a lot about life-and-death. He told me that life and death are really the same thing.
Life And Death Everywhere
Everywhere you look in the universal you’ll find life-and-death. Stars are born and stars die. The entire universe was born in the entire universe will die. Solar systems are born solar systems will die. Our own planet has had five extinctions where almost all the animals die and then they come back.
People are born people grow and people die. Societies are born, societies grow, societies die. He said he found all of this fascinating when he was studying it.
It seemed to make a lot of sense because we’re both standing looking at my dead garden trying to figure out what to best put in there so it comes back to life in the spring, what would look the best. I was kind of staring at my garden thinking about all these strange things that he’d been talking about. I turned and asked him what his advice was and he was gone.
Dude, Where’d You Go?
I just assumed that he went back inside so I started walking up and down the street looking at all the other gardens. If I did find a good one, that didn’t look too expensive I’d maybe ask the homeowner what landscaping service they used.
When I got back to my place, my neighbor’s daughter, the woman that lives there, was standing outside. She had kind of funny look on her face. My first impression when she is going to apologize for her father for talking to me for the past 10 or 20 minutes about whatever that stuff was.
She asked me, she said who are you talking to? I had a strange sensation and maybe this was one of these old people that have alzheimers and they just go out wandering around and talk to whoever they meet about anything.
Talked About Random Stuff
I said what he talked to me about, being in the Army, and I told her a little bit about what we talked about it. She said you come inside with me please. I thought it was a strange request so I followed her inside.
She showed me a picture of her and her father. I said that’s the guy. That’s a guy was talking to. Then she got this really strange look on her face. Kind of pale but also kind of happy.
Um…What?
She said that’s my father but he’s been dead for 10 years.
