Eccentric Neighbor
For a while I’ve had this very strange neighbor in my neighborhood. Everyone knows about him. Everybody talks about him. He’s kind of a recluse. The story is, ann this is a fairly accurate story because most of this is public information.
He was a driven kid in school. He was a driven kid in college. He was driven after college. He founded his own company in his early 30s. He sold this company for several hundred million dollars. The story is he kind of lost his drive. After that he bought this house in this neighborhood.
Once he moved, and he was never seen again, he orders all of his stuff online, he has his yards very very meticulously manicured, he has some landscaping crews come over a couple of times a week, it’s actually very nice-looking house, just we never see this guy. We see the UPS guy a lot.
Everybody’s Got A Theory
Everyone has all the stories about him. We in the neighborhood are kind of split on why he’s like this. Some of us think he just kind of went crazy after he got his money and he’s just turn into like a modern-day Howard Hughes.
The other half of us believe that he’s he’s secretly plotting his next company. He’s got some secret lab built in his basement. He’s doing all these experiments. bBt all of these rumors stopped when we saw an ambulance in front of his house and they were wheeling out his dead body.
That kind of raised the question of how did they know to come pick him up? Who called 911? Did this guy know he had some kind of disease and he knew he was dying? Another neighbor came over. Some woman that I see sometimes that we don’t really have any kind of reason to hang out, so I don’t know much about her.
This Belongs To You
She handed me this book. She said I think you need to read this. I think there’s something about you that will make you understand these words more than anything else. I think there’s something about you that will make you see the meaning underneath these words where other people can’t.
I think something about your unique experience of looking beneath the surface, of not just being satisfied with what is on the surface, I think that will make you uniquely qualified to understand these words and she handed me the diary.
I looked at it. I opened it up. It was in his handwriting and my first couple of questions was why does she have this guy’s diary? Why did she give it to me? I figured I’d answer those questions later. I started to read this guy’s diary.
Secret Lab Really Existed
It turned out that the secret lab in the basement theory was correct. He was working on a new company. He was working on this very very amazing technology. He didn’t write the technical details down. In this diary he just wrote what he thought would happen when he discovered this technology. When he finally figured out how to leverage and use and publish and teach this technology to others.
He was certain it was going to be a planetary changing event. Then somebody came by his house. At first this person seem to be a regular MLM person. Somebody that was selling water filters door-to-door. He gave a fairly interesting pitch. He was working for some network marketing company that was selling water filters. It was supposed to help you become more healthy and give you an opportunity to make income, make passive income and take care your family. That same type of network marketing sales pitch.
Then when this guy let him inside the house, the water guy looked at him and said I need to tell you that this is not just a water filter and I’m not just a water filter person. This water filter will give you access to information you never thought existed. This water filter will filter your water, it will it’ll alter your neurology so you will be able to think of things that no other people can think about.
Drink And See
When you drink this water you’ll be able to understand things that people can’t understand. When you drink this water you’ll start to see things that other people are incapable of seeing. So this guy started drinking this water. This guy started writing the visions that he saw in his diary.
Because of this water this guy realized, he started to believe that there was something buried in his basement. He believed there was something deep underneath his house. He started to believe that fate brought him to this house. That fate brought him to this location. That fate introduced him to this water salesman that was going to make everything click together.
There was something underneath his house that he had to find. Something underneath his house that he had to take out and extract and understand. Something deep underneath everything that would make everything make sense. So he started digging through his basement.
Beneath The Cement
He started hacking through the cement foundation of his house. He was certain. He started to write things in his diary that didn’t make any sense and pretty soon he was digging in his basement, he would write things in his diary, he would dig more, basically write things in his diary. That’s about when he died.
That’s when the diary entries ended. Something about this didn’t quite make sense. Something about this was missing. There was something in these words that made me wonder what was really going on here.
I read the diary again a couple of times and every time I read these words I thought to myself, there’s something within these words that’s very very important that you need to understand. There’s something deceptively simple that seems so complex and when you understand what that is you will understand everything.
Read and Re-Read
I kept reading the diary over and over again and then it finally clicked when I read the last page for the last time. It was staring me in the face. It was so simple I couldn’t realize what how I could’ve missed before and I sat there dumbfounded.
I didn’t know what to make of this new information and that new information was that on the sixth or seventh or eighth time reading through this diary I realized that it was in my handwriting.
