All Modern Societies Are Unsustainable
There are a couple of different ways to view an anthill. You can look at it as one singular organism unto itself or you could look at it as a collection of individual organisms onto themselves, all genetically programmed to support the meta-organism.
You can look at a beehive the same way. You can look at a beehive as one singular organism unto itself or you can look at the beehive as a collection of individual organisms unto themselves, all genetically programmed to support the meta-organism.
You can also look at pre-Neolithic humans the same way. As one singular organism or a collection of individuals all genetically programmed to support the meta-organism.
Three Main Differences
The one thing that change for humans though was that Neolithic Revolution is when humans changed from hunters into farmers. There are three major differences between pre-Neolithic humans and post Neolithic humans.
The first difference is going from a two level organism to a three-level organism. Like ants, bees and pre-Neolithic humans, you can see two levels the meta-organism or the individuals.
Once they invented farming they became a three level organism. Society, the individual tribes or families or groups within the society, and then the individuals.
Energy Source Is Different
The second change was that ants, bees, and pre-Neolithic humans, when they needed energy, they went outside of their group, they got energy from their environment, they brought the energy back to their meta-organism. But once they invented farming they they created the societies around the source of energy.
The third major change, once humans shifted into post Neolithic living conditions was that human society became un-sustainable.
When beehives get too big they split off and form two separate beehives. When pre-Neolithic tribes got too big, they split in half and they went off in two different directions. When anthills get too big they split into two ant hills and go off in different directions.
No Longer Infinitely Sustainable
The one major change between post Neolithic humans and beehives anthills and pre-Neolithic humans is that anthills, beehives and pre-Neolithic humans are infinitely sustainable. Post Neolithic humans, on the other hand are always inevitably unsustainable.
All Things Will End
Everything that is unsustainable must end.
