Easy Cash With A Catch
I used to have this fantastic sales job. Easy money, fat stacks of cash but it ended in an unexpected train wreck that left me fleeing for my life.
It was a sales job, a job where you have a list of warm clients, people who have responded to some mail flyer they got you. You set appointments for the in home sales. Very common structure. The closing rate for when you called them up was about 40%.
Meaning 40% of the people you called were happy to have you come to their house. When you got to their house there was a 20% closing rate. For every five people you visit in their homes one would buy something.
Each sale was worth, on average about $1500, to the salesperson as commission. Totally easy money. The way sales companies work, salespeople know that sales is numbers game. If you call hundred people you make a certain sale sales.
Always A Numbers Game
Companies hire people they had the same kind of strategy. They figure they hire 100 people, they might get five people that are good salespeople and rest will just quit. They really don’t care about the 95 that can’t sell, so they don’t spend any kind of money on training or recruiting.
They just figure whoever can show up in a suit, doesn’t smell like they crawled out of the dumpster, and is sober is hired. Whoever sells sells. Whoever doesn’t, doesn’t. Nice knowing you.
I worked there for a couple of months. I was always doing very well. I was asked me to train new people. If I trained people I would get a percentage of their commissio. Kind of structured like network marketing.
The reasons that the sales were so high, the commissions so high, the conversions were so high, was that they got all of their potential customers off this list of these specific union members.
Shady Company
The company presented itself as if it were part of the union. I think the guy that owned the company was friends with one of the higher-ups in the actual union. They were very careful to not do anything illegal.
They never actually blatantly say that they’re part of the union. They very cleverly presented themselves so the customer would assume they were part of the union.
We were always training all these people, really weird people. Most of them kind of washed out really quickly. I have this one guy that was, he was really intelligent, he really he seemed very articulate very confident.
When I was thinking he should be some kind of scientist or something. Some kind of executive. Very good-looking. Very kind young, well spoken, young, younger than me. I thought he would easily clean up.
Strike One
The first sales call we went in he just sat there and watched. I said I would try to sell this couple, but they didn’t buy. Maybe because there’s two of us and was a little uncomfortable, so they didn’t buy.
We went to the next sales place, the next sales appointment, at the house and that didn’t happen for a couple of hours. We had a couple of hours to kill. We’re sitting at this restaurant waiting for this next sales meeting and that’s when this thing kind of went off the rails.
That’s the first conversation I had with this guy that wasn’t structured around a specific conversational topic. All the topics before were about how to present the product. How to go in to a customer’s home had a make a show of being respectful and wipe your feet when you walk in.
How to overcome objections, and how to how to navigate the Southern California freeways. How to drive from point A to point B without wasting a lot of time. The best places to wait before going to appointment.
Strike Two
We sat and talked for about an hour in this restaurant at about 2 o’clock in the afternoon. No other people just me and him having coffee where we had a conversation. He just kept talking about whatever he felt like talking about and that’s when I started to become extremely terrified.
He told me his previous job was at the CIA. When he first said that I had a sudden mix of emotions. I first thought this has got to be kidding but he didn’t show any sign of joking or anything. When he kept telling me about this I thought okay this guys a lunatic, he’s insane.
We, both of us, have to go to this sales meeting. I was, we were both in my car. I could just leave the restaurant and I thought well I gotta just listen this guy. We have to go to the sales meeting and I was gonna let him sell the next one.
Because he was telling me this really strange story, I was deciding that I was just going to do this one myself. Go back to the office of my boss. Tell him I’m never going out with this guy again. The more he told me the story the more he told me the more I tried to read him.
This Can’t Be Happening
I was certain that he was telling me some just completely made up story. But nothing about his personal nonverbal energy indicated that he was telling anything that wasn’t true.
It was completely congruent. His body language was open. His eyes were blinking very slowly. His eyes were not darting around his face or his eyeballs.
He was completely had the same absolute presence he had were talking about how to drive on the freeways that overcome objections how to present the product.
Sneak Into Their Brains
But he was telling me that he used to be a CIA assassin. He said that they recruited him after college like the CA does. He went into to some program that seemed a little bit a little bit like the MK Ultra program which I’m sure they still have those.
He told me they trained him in remote viewing. And again, this is probably something that they do, but I always thought it was something that they just uses as an excuse to spend a lot of money just goof off. Give people LSD and see if they can get them to jump out windows.
This guy told me that they were specifically trained as a remote viewing assassin. That they can’t really use remote viewing that when it comes to remote viewing you can’t really extract information from people’s brains.
The way we store information, it’s not like the information is just sitting there in our brains. The way we have memories is by firing a certain connection or collection of neurons and the memories are based on a certain neural configuration when they’re fired we have that memory.
Remote Data Harvesting Is Impossible
Unless we’re firing those specific neurons, we’re can’t have that memory. So if you sneak into somebody’s brain, unless you can figure out how to fire those neurons, you can’t collect any information. Not a bank account number, or secret formulas or nuclear codes or anything.
You can, through remote viewing, implant emotional thought patterns inside people’s brains. What they had found in this program was that if you implant the combination of dread and confusion in people’s minds it will make them completely incapable at their jobs.
That’s essentially what he did with all these other guys in the program. They would target somebody either an enemy government or an enemy company or an enemy research division ,and find a key employee just scramble their brains until they are incompetent.
Remotely Delivered Insanity
That person would sometimes go insane. They would sometimes kill themselves. They would sometimes just be incapable work and have to retire and if they were lucky enough to have a pension they wouldn’t end up homeless.
That’s what they did. I kept wondering how this guy could come up with such a detailed story and have it not be true. This guy was so congruent when he was telling the story it had to be true.
Instead of wondering how I could get away from the psychopath I started to think what if this is true what this guy can really do that what is this guy really can implement thought patterns into people’s minds. Then I started thinking if this guy can do this and he suddenly gets angry at me for any reason I am absolutely screwed.
I started to try to steer the conversation away from the actual work that he did. Try to find out other things about that. Hoping it would lead me to believe it was made up. I was still hoping it wasn’t true. I started asking questions like benefits and working salary in stuff like that.
Killing People Is Boring
He actually told me the reason that he quit was because when he showed up to work it was very much like going to get chemotherapy. If you’ve ever been to visit somebody’s getting chemotherapy, they have these big rooms. They have these big kind of easy chairs. People just got to show up and relax in these easy chairs.
They have these IVs dripping the chemotherapy into their veins. They kind of kill time waiting to finish. They bring books, magazines, iPads had so they can watch Netflix.
He said it was j ust like that except worse. At least if you’re having chemotherapy you can bring something to help kill the time.
He said when he went to work to remote viewing assassinate somebody they had to sit in the same kind of chairs but they had a close their eyes. They had to focus on a certain individual for like six hours. They had to hold these specific thoughts in mind for six hours.
I Need Something More Exciting
He said that the reason he quit. The reason he left, the reason he didn’t want to do that anymore, even though they had a fantastic salary and fantastic benefits and essentially a get out of jail free card as he worked for the goddamn CIA.
The reason he quit was because it was too boring. He wanted to get into sales and implant thought bombs in people’s minds and make them buy stuff. Get out, drive around and actually get out and mess with people’s brains on purpose and see the results.
I thought okay I got one last chance to prove this guy’s crazy. To do so I decided to let him sell the next appointment. We went into their house and I told him before he went and I said okay I’m not going to say anything. I pretended I didn’t even remember what he told me.
I just told us about I’ll let you do the sale however you want to. No judgment, just try your best. We went inside I didn’t say anything he didn’t even bring his laptop.
Boom Goes The Dynamite
He brought in a brochure. He just sat back on the table. He put the brochure on the coffee table he kind of read a couple of words off the brochure he didn’t even look at the people while he was talking to them.
Within 10 minutes they couldn’t wait to buy. The average in-home sales call is 90 minutes. He just kind of tightly mentioned a couple of words off the flyer and they bought within 10 minutes.
We drove back to the office. My mind was racing with how I could get away from him. The only benefit, the only good thing that I can think of was he specifically said that with remote viewing you can’t read people’s minds.
I to come up with a really well concocted story that he would believe why I was quitting. Before I quit I told him about all the ladies in the office and which ones are the easiest in which one freaks in which wounds liked different kinds of sexual acts. Of course I made it all up.
Sleight Of Attention
I wanted to get his focus is far away for me as possible and to this day every time I have a nightmare I can’t help but wonder if he’s tracked me down and just messing with me.
Every time I have a stray thought it seems even even close to to confusion or worry, I wonder, I wonder if these kind of watching me from far away.
When I first got that job and I was and I noticed it had a 40% closing rate phone calls and 20% closing inside the homes I was thinking myself there’s gotta be some, catch there’s gotta be something this bad, but I had no idea it was going to be a goddamn CIA assassin.
