Ratio of Known To Unknown
There’s this very common idea that every single second we have about one million bits of information hitting our senses but at the same time our conscious minds are only capable of perceiving a very, very tiny fraction of that.
There is this metaphorical thing, maybe an actual thing, a neurological thing called a preconscious processor. It’s some type of filter that has the job of deciding what information is important and what information is not important.
It has the job of sorting through all of these millions of bits of information hitting our senses every second and trying to find the stuff that’s worthy of our conscious minds. A very common idea in law of attraction circles is the red car syndrome.
Red Car Syndrome
If you go to buy a red car you’ll suddenly notice all of the red cars around you that you didn’t notice before. Not a lot of people believe that you magically created these red cars. What happens is obvious. You bought a red car and so now you’re preconscious processor, because of your actions, because this was a large important purchase, your preconscious processor has now been reconfigured with the idea that red cars are very important.
Your preconscious processor is now doing the work of pointing out all of the red cars that are around you. A similar thing happens to women when they get pregnant. Once they start to get pregnant, once they start to think in terms of being pregnant, they start to notice all of the other pregnant women around them and all the things relating to pregnancy that they didn’t notice before.
A very interesting idea from physics is called Chaos Theory. This is an idea that if you have any complex system with a lot of polynomial interdependent variables, there’s only so much in the future that you can predict in what state the system will be the further out in the future the system will be the harder it is to predict.
Weather Patterns
They first found this out when they started the study weather patterns. When they first built computers that were powerful enough to model weather patterns and they found out that if they started the initial conditions with a certain set that would lead to a certain weather pattern two weeks out.
If they went back and they changed the initial conditions just barely, just a small as they could, the resultant two-week out weather pattern would be completely different. This is where they got the phrase if a butterfly flaps its wings in Brazil it can create a hurricane in Texas.
One of the biggest problems with humans and our reality is our brains are simply not configured to understand our reality. Almost everything that we think is an actual fact about reality is really just a metaphor. Even matter itself is just a metaphor. Matter does not exist. This does not come from metaphysics this comes from Schrödinger and Einstein and Niels Bohr.
Matter Is A Metaphor
These guys that studied quantum physics way back in the day. Even particle physicist will tell you that there’s no such thing as a particle. A particle is really just a metaphorical description of a highly compact energy wave and energy waves are long and wide and low frequencies or they’re very high frequencies very compact and so there’s really different types of energy waves interacting with each other.
The entirety of our reality is a whole bunch of energy fields and a whole bunch of energy waves that are manifestations of the energy fields and how they interact with one another. They interact with one another in some ways that create this metaphor of these particles.
Even protons and neutrons are made up of quarks and quarks themselves are just pure energy. Even when we speak normal language about normal things a lot of our language is filled up with these metaphors.
You Are Really Going To A Hallucination
If you say you’re going to a meeting, that idea, that intangible noun meeting is a metaphor. It does not exist. There’s no such thing as a meeting. There’s the meeting room. There’s the table. There’s the people, there is the topic, but the actual meeting is kind of a shared hallucination between all of the people that are going to this imaginary thing called a meeting.
If you are in love with somebody, there’s really no such thing as love. Love is a very complex description of a lot of chemical and hormonal and biological processes, but this idea of this thing, this noun called love is just a shared hallucination between two people.
It turns out that a lot of our understandings of reality, even when you talk about quantum physics and relativity, are very much like those very old maps that they used to draw of the ocean back before they learned how to fix longitude.
Fixing Longitude
Before they learned how to fix longitude, whenever they would sail across the ocean, the best they could do would be to guess where they were to guess where they had been so if you have some kind of a treasure map.
Before they figured out how to fix longitude, you just basically had to keep guessing until you got lucky. That’s kind of how our understanding of reality is. We have these metaphors that are really just guesses about the actual structure of reality, and if you plan your life based on these metaphors, you really are not going to be much better than those ancient pirates who had to use the stolen map that they used with a just a guess of where the treasure Island was.
They just had to keep sailing around looking for it. If you combine the idea of the law of attraction with Chaos theory, you come up with some very troubling conclusions. One is that the law of attraction doesn’t actually create things around you. It just makes you see things that you couldn’t see before.
Preconscious Processor Reconfiguration
All it really does is reconfigure your preconscious processor. But if you combine this with Chaos Theory even if you could sit down with the law of attraction and manifest these opportunities around you to hopefully lead to money or love you wouldn’t really notice these at the beginning.
Chaos Theory dictates that no matter what you do you can’t really predict what’s going to happen very far out in the future. If you ask anyone who is happily in love if you ask anyone who has successfully created a business you will very rarely find someone who did it through a step-by-step process.
Every single person you’ll find it is happily in love every, single person you’ll find that has successfully created a business really has no idea how it happened. They just kind of kept going forward and they were lucky enough to stumble forward through into success.
Just A Starting Point
If you’re going to practice the law of attraction, if you’re going to try to create wealth, no matter how strongly you visualize your intention, no matter how strongly you try to create magic around you, you will still have to get out of your comfort zone.
You will still have to interact with the world around you and you will have to interact with the world around you in a way that you don’t know what’s going to happen. The only way to achieve success is to visualize what you want and keep going forward through uncertainty and learning through trial and error until you eventually get there.
This is what they mean when they say you have to believe in yourself. You believing in yourself doesn’t create magic. Believing in yourself is necessary to continue to power yourself through all of the continuous success of actions of uncertainty when you don’t know what’s going to happen.
