Donut Stories
When I was in college I worked at this donut shop. I worked there for one semester. When I got jobs during college time I would quit in between semesters because we has long break. This job was one of my semester jobs.
It was from 3 to 11 at night at a donut shop in a sketchy part of the area. A sketchy part of the downtown. At night it was wasn’t that busy so a lot of strange people, would come in and have these very strange conversations.
Most of the time at work I had to make the donuts for the next day. While I was making the donuts, I would find myself having conversations with these strange people that spend a lot of time out on the street.
Sandwich Shop Girl
I thought of that recently while talking to the this girl in my local sandwich shop. I go every couple three weeks to get something to eat. She’s very friendly. It is one of those situations where you know that she is being friendly to you because she’s an employee.
She kind of, you kind of sense that she enjoys talking you as an employee. If you’ve ever worked retail before there’s a lot of situations where you have to have to or you get to have pleasant conversations with people that you normally wouldn’t have a because it’s over a sales transaction.
You’re going to take the time the to talk to them beyond just the sales. It was kind of an interesting way to meet people. In my case I want to make sure to never really overstay my welcome.
Overstay Your Welcome
One time I was in there and I was getting ready to pay, and some other guy came in. He called her by name, she said hi back and when she looked at me she rolled her eyes and smiled and I left.
I remembered to ask her why she rolled her eyes when I went back just have something to talk about. She told me that this guy comes in and he talks about the strangest things about this guy that lives in his building.
An old retired guy everybody knows as a friendly guy. Nobody was really sure what he did when he worked but most of the time he just sits in the lobby near the elevator. When people come in second take the elevator up to their apartment after coming home from work.
When they look at him, he has his weird ability to kinda sit there with this kind of goofy smile on his face and he almost forces them to ask him a question. He doesn’t force them to asked the question but he has a way to create so much curiosity in other people that they feel compelled to ask him a question.
Curiosity Building Trick
But that’s just the beginning part because once they finally ask him a question, he always answers the first question directly but then he takes that answer and he embeds that in twice as much curiosity.
Like he takes their desire for information out of their brain, he satisfies that desire but then he wraps it up and twice as much curiosity puts it back in their brain which forces them or compels them to ask another question and he keeps doing the same thing every time.
They ask a question he doubles their curiosity, he has a nack of taking whatever information they want to know and he gives them that information but he wraps that in twice as much curiosity before putting it back inside their brain.
Explosions Of Giddiness
For him this is kind of a game. He likes to do this to see how long before they finally give up and just get in the elevator and when they do they’re always laughing.
He’s always laughing and it’s like his way of making people feel happy he has this kind of hobby that he likes to make people feel satisfied he likes to build.
Often he and other people he likes to create this compulsion and others to find out information about other people and he just has a lot of fun doing and of course she doesn’t really know if the story is true or not.
This is the type of guy that I used to see when I was in my donut shop and people come in and start telling me stories. Whenever somebody would kind of wandering off the street by a donut start talking to me about something completely random or completely normal it would turn in to some kind of crazy story about some crazy thing.
Learned Or Intuitive?
I always wonder where in the guys mind did he shift from being real and being made up. I would always wonder where in within the story did it stop being real and start being some kind of made up fantasy.
I always wondered if these guys have any kind of special skill of doing that
because these are the kind of people that spend a lot of time out on the street wandering around so they have a lot of time to think of these crazy stories.
So these lunatics come in off the street and start speaking when these crazy stories, I always wonder they have the ability to implant ideas into the minds of other people and implant ideas in the minds of other people so those ideas will kind of replicate.
To create these self replicating ideas and when you put the self replicating ideas into the minds of other people they can take on a life of their own and if you can learn how to do this then you can create these different themes around self replicating thoughts.
Thought Embedding Techniques
You can take themes of curiosity and and build a self replicating thought around that and put that in other people’s minds.
You can build a self replicating thought around the theme of attraction and desire and put that into somebody else’s mind. You can build a self replicating thought around the theme of buying intention if you happen to be in sales.
I was always wondering how these people learn these skills or if they learn them or if they just are intuitive to them but this is a particularly interesting field if you’re interested in studying this.
Army Of Replicating Thought Patterns
To take the idea that you can take any kind of theme wrap around some piece of information and implant that theme-based information into their mind as a self replicating idea that will keep doubling in size every few moments.
Pretty soon you can have a whole army of thought patterns in your mind that can do whatever you want them to do.
