Walking Down The Street
The other day I was walking down the street I had a few plans for the day. I was expecting to be, hoping to be very productive, but I looked up and suddenly this woman that was walking towards me also looked up and our eyes locked.
When this happens it’s always almost like some extra force takes control of your consciousness because humans are naturally rapport building pack animals. When we see each other on the street with eye contact we almost automatically get into rapport.
Kind of a not a romantic, not a sexual, but very strong magnetic attraction between two humans, and if a as guy and a girl the attraction is even stronger. I looked up we had locked eyes for a couple of moments and then she smiled and looked down.
BAM – IOI
That was a signal to me that was an indicator of interest. I thought to myself I don’t have to worry about the three second rule because I’m already moving in her direction and she is already moving in my direction.
Then my next thought that came right after that thought was the idea that now I had to come up with a reason for to stop her on the street and talk to me. If you look across a room and somebody smiles at you is kind of expected that you walk over and talk to them.
When you meet somebody on the street and you’re walking toward each other it’s not always expected that you would start a conversation. At first I thought it was can be easier because I didn’t have to worry about the three second row but then I immediately realized it was can be a lot more difficult.
More Complicated
I would need to come up with a reason for her to stop on the street and talk to me. It was almost as if the time constraint was out of my control because I was moving towards her she was moving towards me but then she disappeared. Not like vanished but she turned to her right into a shop which was my left.
Now my new strategy, which was maybe a couple nano seconds later, was to follow her into the shop and try to figure out a reason why was in that shop that wasn’t based on following a strange woman on the street but I didn’t know what kind of shop was because I couldn’t see the sign from where I was.
My plan was now to turn into the shop immediately and realize what shop it was and then immediately come up with some kind of a cover story of why I was in the shop. This all happened in about a second and this was getting very very complicated very very quickly.
Oh. Now I Get It
As soon as I walked into the shop I smelled the smells and I heard the sounds and I immediately knew that was a pet shop. Okay, I don’t have any pets maybe I’ll go over to the fish food which then now added to my complexity because if I talk to her if we hit it off if I got a number if I got her back to my place then I would have to have some fish to cover my reason for coming to this god damn pet store.
As I was walking over to the fish food I saw my neighbor but he didn’t see me which was good because my neighbor is a very very strange person. He always tells these very convoluted stories that don’t seem to go anywhere and they don’t make any sense. Once he starts talking to you he doesn’t stop for a long time. He doesn’t seem to have a basic level of social acumen that tells them when it’s appropriate to talk to people when it’s not.
If he sees you he’ll walk right up to you and he’ll start talking to about all kinds of strange things that don’t make any sense and so now I had a whole bunch of different obstacles. I had to look at the fish food I had to find this girl and I had to avoid him. But the next thing I knew he was standing right next to me.
Life Is Interesting
He was saying you know it’s interesting when you think about all of these animals. Once upon a time there was no life on earth but then something happened and there was life on earth and this is a very strange idea but it’s actually a very valid biological and scienfitic idea and that as we humans have this kind of arbitrary idea that offspring are separate life entities from their parents.
That’s really kind of an arbitrary distinction that might not be true from a scientific standpoint. It’s not unlike the fact that we try to describe our entire universe in a base 10 mathematical system but the only reason we use a base 10 mathematical system is because we have 10 fingers. Ever since the ancient times of when they first invented counting and mathematics they naturally used their fingers.
We’ve evolved to think in terms of the base 10 number system and so the idea that offspring of parents are separate biological entities is a similarly arbitrary classification. A similarly arbitrary distinction. In reality we are, one way to look at all of the life on earth is that we are actually one gigantic organism that is millions of years old.
Pagan Goddess of Life
That very first life form that appeared for whatever reason, perhaps it came from the pagan goddess, perhaps it came from lightning, perhaps it came from aliens, but one way to look at all of the life on earth is that we are still that singular organism that started everything. That same organism is still alive is still evolving is still growing.
All of these different lifeforms are really part of the same lifeforms. When you’re out walking around looking at other people it’s kind of a mind trick to think that their separate entities. That their separate individuals, but in reality you’re really looking at a fractionated version of yourself.
This falls in line with what they teach in metaphysics. That we all are part of the universal mind. It also falls in line with what they teach about the holographic universe. That the entire universe is really a function of this one very small thing and we see our projections reflections of the same kind of small substance that the universe is made of.
Everything Is Familiar
If you apply this to life, we all really the exact same organism. So when you see other people, when you see other animals, when you see other lifeforms, that’s really one life form that is looking at another part of itself. If you think in these terms is very easy to remove all social fear. It’s very easy to remove all social anxiety. It’s very easy to feel comfortable when talking other people.
It’s very easy to feel relaxed and confident when talking other people. It’s very easy to see everyone as already somebody that knows you even though you or they don’t know that yet. That’s why it’s so easy for humans to get into rapport so quickly. We’re seeing somebody that we recognize.
One way to think about this is every time you see somebody new, every time you see somebody new that you would like to meet, see them as a friend that you already have you just haven’t met them yet in this kind of plane of existence.
Cool Story Dude
It took him about 20 minutes to tell me this long convoluted story and the whole time I was looking at this parrot. Part of me was hoping the parrrot would join the conversation so I could kind of maybe shift this old guy this neighbor from talking to me and maybe he would start talking to the parrot and I could go find this girl.
By the time he finished I realized any hope of me talking to the girl was long gone. I went back outside and I continued on my way and so this one unexpected eye contact transfixed and captured my attention and my conscious thinking. It kind of sucked me into a vortex of a hallucination that lasted for about an hour.
When I walked back down the street back on my way I completely forgot about all of the stuff I was going to do. I completely forgot about all of my productivity I had planned for the day.
Thought Stealing Hallucination
I just was content to wander around with the lingering feelings of this strange hallucination that suddenly came out of nowhere and took over my brain.
